WK Christchurch, a leading accounting and advisory firm, and EPA Business, a respected Christchurch-based accounting practice, announced their merger, effective April 1, 2025. This strategic partnership will combine the strengths of both firms, enhancing client services and expanding resources for businesses in the Canterbury region.

The merger stems from a shared commitment to client-centric service and aligned values, cultivated through a longstanding relationship between the firms. Jayne Belcher, formerly of EPA Business and now with WK Christchurch, played a key role in fostering this connection.

“We’ve always strived to provide a service where we listen to and care about our clients and their businesses,” said Ed Post, Director of EPA Business. “We’ve found that WK shares this same philosophy, and we’re excited to join forces to offer our clients an even greater level of support and expertise.”

Aaron Cassidy, Director of WK Christchurch, echoed this sentiment: “This merger is a natural fit, driven by our shared values and dedication to our clients. We’re thrilled to welcome the EPA team to WK and expand our presence in the Christchurch business community.”

The merger will provide EPA Business clients access to WK’s extensive resources, including specialised tax services and industry expertise. WK clients will benefit from the addition of EPA’s established client base and deep understanding of the local business landscape.

“The increased resources and expertise, particularly in tax, will be a significant benefit to our clients,” Ed Post noted. “We’re also excited about the reduced administrative burden and the opportunity to focus even more on providing exceptional service.”

Aaron Cassidy added, “For WK, this merger increases team efficiency and expands our client base in the vibrant Canterbury business community. We are excited to see the continued growth this merger will provide.”

Both firms utilise Xero and Xero Practice Manager software, ensuring a seamless transition for clients. On March 28, 2025, the EPA team, including directors Ed Post and Daniel Barnfield, will relocate to WK Christchurch’s office at Level 1, 62 Riccarton Road.

“We are committed to maintaining the same high level of service our clients have come to expect,” Ed Post emphasised.

With the merger, WK Christchurch will further solidify its position as a leading provider of accounting and advisory services in the region, offering clients enhanced resources and a broader range of expertise.
