WK recently hosted an information workshop on the Red Meat Profit Partnership Action Network (RMPP).
Attendees at the workshop, including farmers, bankers, rural advisors and WK staff gained an insight into how the Action Network Programme has been developed, as well as what it aims to achieve.
The aim of RMPP is to give sheep and beef farmers practical ideas to help them lift their profitability. It’s about farmers focusing on what they can control.
In brief, the intent is to gather together groups of seven to nine like-minded farming businesses with a shared interest in a topic that can lead on to farm change for the better of the business.
All the stakeholders and key personnel can be part of the group, so while it may be that seven or so farms are included, they can be represented by more than one person, i.e. farm managers, partners etc.
Funding is available through the RMPP and is capped at $4,000 per farm business. The funding is pooled within the group to be applied toward the costs of facilitation and activity.
In the second year, each farm business is required to contribute $800 to the fund.
At WK, we believe that the sharing of knowledge and experience is essential to business growth and profitability. For our red meat farming clients, the RMPP offers another opportunity to improve and build on performance.
