Andrew Pope Homes is a thriving Marlborough building company, run by Andrew and Michelle Pope who have been building quality homes for more than 20 years.
WK has been working with Andrew and Michelle providing compliance and business advice since 2012.
WK director Hamish Morrow says the pair enjoy a fairly relaxed approach to business, but behind their informal get togethers, clear strategies and deadlines are developed to ensure accountability and actual results.
“We catch up every couple of months to have a look at what’s coming up, how the local industry’s tracking, and keep an eye on cashflow and profitability, as well as doing some long term planning and strategising for business growth,” says Hamish.
A big part of their work together has been putting new processes in place and streamlining office and administration systems to keep up as the business grows, ensuring everything is working as efficiently as possible.
“Andrew is the frontman, but having a strong team running tight operations allows him to go out and win the work and deal with the clients,” says Hamish.
Michelle says working with WK gives them confidence, and allows them to focus on growing the business.
“We love working with Hamish, he’s our mentor really, all ideas go past him and we have full confidence in his advice and what he tells us.
“I feel as though he cares as much as we do about our business, which is really important to us.”
Their relationship with WK has resulted in noticeable business results, Michelle says.
“Working with Hamish we’ve seen some big changes in the way we run our business, which have been incredibly cost efficient. Time with Hamish is certainly well spent.”
