Xero describes Xerocon as the world’s most beautiful and innovative conference for cloud accounting leaders and friends in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
Melbourne was host to the 2017 Xerocon, and WK had great representation at the event with 6 staff and 2 directors attending the two-day conference.
The team learnt about the next wave of enhancements from Xero, new product launches, and listened to key-note speakers in the tiered auditorium on topics ranging from The Future has arrived – Rod Drury, CEO and Co-Founder Xero, to Magda Szubanski (Sharon from Kath & Kim) who has written a new book, Reckoning -A Memoir.
The exhibition hall had 68 different exhibitors covering a full range of categories from financial services, inventory, payroll & HR, time tracking and farming to name a few.
WK staff had the opportunity to have one-on-one demonstrations with key exhibitors, enabling us to advise clients of the different add ons available to help run their business effectively in Xero.
We were also able to attend breakout sessions where we could choose the topics of interest and relevance. Four sessions were running simultaneously, and once we selected our topic of interest we could put on the headphones provided to listen our speaker of choice.
Xero announced Xero Lifelong Learning Platform which is an online learning tool aimed at students and the re-skilling of the workforce, which will be delivered by educational institutions initially in NZ and Australia and will launch in November 2017.
They have said there is a need for lifelong learning to stay relevant with the pace of change in the workplace. The beauty of using Xero is that it is on the cloud and always up to date.
The networking opportunities at Xerocon are endless, with the ability to gain knowledge through sharing ideas and resources and maintaining relationships with other Xero partners, as well as the many Xero staff from around the world.
A huge highlight, as detailed in a previous blog, was WK winning the 100% Cloud Award. This was awarded for operating entirely on Xero and going above and beyond to champion cloud-accounting.
This year’s attendees got to experience the thrill of winning this award live in front of the 3000 Xerocon attendees.
