As a senior business advisor, Sabine has a love for working with and assisting her clients, saying it’s the thing she looks forward to the most each day. Working mainly with clients in the commercial and vineyard sector, Sabine has been at WK for more than 20 years, after moving to Marlborough in 1986.
The world of accounting has changed tremendously since Sabine trained as a Chartered Accountant, with technology enabling compliance work to become much more efficient, and transforming her role from tax accountant to a business advisor. Sabine has embraced the change, is now Xero Certified, and loves the fact that it has enabled her to have a better understanding of her clients businesses.
Outside of work, Sabine uses her accounting knowledge in a number of community roles, previously as a board member and treasurer of Lifeline Marlborough for a number of years, before becoming the treasurer of the Marlborough Maternal Mental Wellbeing Trust.
She has a keen interest in psychology, history, travelling, cycling, tramping, and everything outdoors, as well as a love of cooking, gardening and dancing.
Sabine moved to New Zealand from her native Berlin in 1980, the pull of the great outdoors led her to Marlborough, where she is spoilt for choice in terms of outdoor activities, from climbing mountains, skiing to fishing and boating. Sabine also loves the sunshine and the fact that Marlborough gets as many sunshine hours as Barcelona.
